Welcome to Tauhara Primary School
"Whaia te Matauranga-Reach for the Highest Peak"
I extend a very warm welcome to all our students and their families.
Mihi nui ki a koutou katoa
We have had a great term so far. Our Seniors have had a very successful camp at Lakes Ranch in Rotorua. We have just finished our school Athletics day and Interschool Athletics with our girls coming in second in the relay and we placed in a few of the events as well. Our Middle and Junior School will complete their Athletics programmes this term, with the Middle School having an Athletics day next term. We have our Meet and Greet evening with our tamariki performing for our parents. All presentations from our teachers will be posted on their class pages for those of our whanau that are unable to attend the evening. We have netball trials starting soon for our girls, as well as the usual winter sports next term. Our children will enjoy watching the "Fairest of them all" show and participating in Life Education lessons at the end of the term.
We had our first General meeting for the Parent Teacher Association this term, there will also be an Annual General Meeting on April 13th if you are interested in joining. The P.T.A. have lots of exciting ideas they would love your help with (Breakfast Club, Term 2 Disco, Maths night, Art competition, White Ribbon Community Event, School Christmas Float, Soup during Winter and Lost Property)
I have just completed the reports for the Ministry of Education and will be looking to consult with our whanau for input into our Tauhara School Charter and feed back on policies we need to review over the next couple of terms using our SchoolDocs web page. If you have time to come in and lend a hand with reading or writing or maths learning to support our tamariki that would be much appreciated from our teachers.
A huge thank you to all of our parents who helped at Camp and with our sporting activities this term. We have an Easter Break shortly and finish school on April 15th which is the end of term one, it has come around incredibly quickly.
Just a reminder that we are here to support you and your child/children. If you have concerns please let us know so that we can work together to find the right solution to support you and your child/children. You can contact me on the email address below.
